Spring Cleanup 2024

WOW!

The weather turned out to be just a perfect day for our annual cleanup on March 28th.

A special thank all 29 of you who came out, some taking off of work, and volunteered  and worked darn hard at getting the park ready for the season.  This was the biggest turnout yet! Also thank you to those who could not make it but contributed your backpack blowers, coffee pots, and tractors and trucks to the effort - they were definitely used.

As a result of your effort:

  • Restrooms are clean and water is on.

  • Leaves are cleared from everywhere we sit, walk and park.

  • Downed trees are cut, and branches and logs moved to central locations.

  • Large culverts are clean, fallen tree in the creek is moved and water is now flowing freely.

  • Picnic tables, chairs and other tables are set up and clean under the pavilions and throughout the park.

  • Badminton net is up.

  • Sails on the stage are installed.

  • And other tasks.

and especially, we were able to see old friends after our winter hibernation, and got to meet new neighbors whom we hope to see more of.   THANK YOU ALL!!!

Concrete Pads

2024 Project

This year we would like to add a concrete pad under the large pavilion and add a small one in the front of the Restroom including a walkway.  This should enhance the use of the pavilion and allow easier access to the Restroom especially for the handicapped.

This project will begin once we received enough contributions. We appreciate any support you can give towards this effort.

The Restroom is complete!

The 2023 Labor Day Weekend Music Festival marked the opening of the new Restroom, after 18 months of work. Everything worked flawlessly and everyone gave high complements on the construction.

The restroom consists of 3 separate rooms: women, men, and family. The family room has 1 toilet and sink with a baby changing table; women’s room has 2 toilets, and 2 sinks; and the men’s room has 1 toilet, 2 urinals, 2 sinks. All rooms are ADA compliant. During the season, the family room will be open during the day utilizing special electronic locks, and the others will only be used during large park events.

The Winter Camp Park partners would like to THANK the Woods community and businesses for your donations to the Restroom project.

Join the  2024 Friends of Winter Camp Park Program now!

The 2024 decals are in! We are happy to have you join, or renew your participation in the Friends of Winter Camp Park program for 2024.  The initial major projects were funded by contributions from the twelve homeowner partners, including the purchase of the land, construction of two large pavilions, event stage, parking, and significant excavation and grading to mediate water flow.

Contributions by other homeowners helped purchase picnic tables and property maintenance and enhancement. Incredible contributions from neighbors and Corporate Friends, funded the construction of the spectacular restroom facility!

Continued support is needed from the community to accomplish other projects and to pay for annual recurring expenses of over $12,000 (insurance, taxes, accounting, electric and water, grass cutting, computer services, and to keep this area FREE FOR ALL.

So,  join the Friends of the Park program to support this goal.

 Projects

This Park is being developed thru a series of projects.  These projects are started based on several factors: safety, usability, interest, and availability of resources.

Check out the Projects page to see what has already been completed.
